This attractive Text Editor has taken the place
of both my Notepad and MS Word on my computer. As a multi-document
editor it's easy to understand and use for even the novice who doesn't
want to be intimidated by all the fancy buttons and gadgets of a
bigger editor, yet still powerful enough editor to create attractive
Rich Text Documents.
With extras like inclusion of a Calculator and Clipboard, to the
usuals expected in MS Word with Font choice, size & color, this
neat little program can sit quietly in your system tray ready for
a quick click whenever you come across something you just have to
have at a moment's notice.
Copy/Paste makes easy and attractive documents with supports for
full text formatting, URL recognition and Bookmarking.
If you want more than your ordinary Window's Note Pad, NotePro deserves
to be checked out.

If you need to create or edit text files and want something with
more options than the default Notepad/WordPad programs that come
with Windows but don't need the power and complexity of a full-fledged
word-processor, check out NotePro. Although it has many powerful
features typically found in a word-processor, it's very simple to
use.
NotePro has a clean, attractive interface that puts nearly all the
options you'll need right on the well-designed button bar. NotePro
handles standard text files, and also creates and saves Rich Text
Format (.rtf) files used by Microsoft Word and other word-processors.
You can have multiple documents open at one time - a real "must
have" if, like me, you often cut-and-paste between files.
Other options include complete control over text appearance. Use
any TrueType font installed on your system, control the font size
and attributes (bold, italic, underscore, or strikethrough), and
also use colored text, including background fills. Onscreen you
can quickly increase or decrease text size, add super- or subscript
text, and change the text alignment (flush left, centered, or flush
right). You can also quickly create numbered or bulleted lists.
Like a word-processor, NotePro lets you create custom "styles"
for your text - define a font, face, attributes, color, alignment,
etc. - that lets you easily apply a style to specific text. Great
for headers, captions, or entire paragraphs of text you need to
distinctively separate.
NotePro also has a built-in spelling checker, and lets you import
text from existing files. (The registered version will also let
you embed or link to objects and images.) Other features include
changing the case of text to all upper or lower, running Windows
calculator, or Character Map programs, font preview
in the font selection window so you get a quick peek at what a font
looks like, and print preview.
NotePro is easy-to-use, and provides plenty of features. In a fairly
small package it incorporates nearly all of the most-used features
of a word-processor without having to learn how to use one; in fact,
if you use a word-processor frequently, you might find yourself
using NotePro instead for many documents.

NotePro is a text editor, which sits somewhere between WordPad (the
editor bundled with Windows) and full blown word processor.
Taking WordPad as the yardstick, I'll run through some of the features
NotePro has. The first obvious inclusion - and a god send if your
typing is much like mine - is a spell checker and thesaurus. The
default language is American English, but additional languages (English,
technical English, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese)
are available from the Crystal Office website.
The interface has all the modern features, like XP style menus and
adjustable toolbars, and drag and drop editing. NotePro can also
open multiple documents, and one of the toolbars allows you to select
between documents, in a similar way to the taskbar in Windows allows
you swap between running programs. This makes swapping between files
a lot quicker than having to use the Window menu. Another nice feature
is the option to have fonts displayed in the font selection drop
down.
NotePro can be edit plain text, rich text, Microsoft Word, Windows
Write and HTML documents. In the registered version of the program,
documents can also have objects and pictures added into them, so
you want to brighten up your work, you can.
Three unusual features in a program in this price range are calculator and table features. The tables created
are limited in the fact that you can have columns with different
numbers of rows. However, if you just want to help format text,
then they're a welcome addition.
All in all, NotePro is one of the best editors I've seen. It's packed
full of features, is simple to use, fast in operation and well worth
the asking price. If you want something that's better than WordPad
but doesn't have the cost of Word, than I'd recommend you give NotePro
a trial.

NotePro is a text editing tool that combines the simplicity of a notepad and the power of a word processor. This new tool makes it very simple to create and edit standard text files.
As compared to the regular notepad and word pad this program has many more features. This software comes with a very simple and attractive interface. Everything you would need is already there on the ‘button bar’. This software can not only handle standard text files but also create and save Rich Text Format, Word, Windows Write, and HTML files used by Microsoft Word and other word processors. The performance of this software is similar to a standard word processor. It can support any true type font from your system. You can also edit and format the appearance of the text to suit your style. The software also has spelling checker, calculator, and character map.
If you are scared of the complexity of the word processor and find the other tools’ lacking the necessary features then NotePro is just right for you. With so many features and simple design it is a sure winner.

Imagine Notepad on steroids, and you'll find NotePro. What a nifty
little tool! I actually used the software to write this review,
instead of my usual Notepad.
NotePro gives you a lot of functionality you would normally find
in a full-featured word processor like MS Word, including paragraph
and text formatting, embedded hyperlinks, tables, bullets/numbering,
spell checking and help files. I especially liked the ability to
create and tile multiple windows, the Table Insert function, the
Spell Checker and Thesaurus. I also thought it was handy that the
Time/Date stamp gives you a choice of date formatting. To be honest,
I didn't see the point of having a built-in calculator, until I
noticed that you can Paste the results from the calculator to the
file you're editing.
