Icons

To make a node visually easier to recognize, it is handy to change the icon that is displayed the tree outline pane. The icon can indicate the item's content or purpose. Maple comes with a large built in library with a variety of icon designs. You may choose any of these designs as an icon for a node. Alternatively you could use your own icons.

Change node icon

Maple provides an attractive collection of built-in node icons to choose from.

To change an icon, in Node menu click Change Icon, or select the node and press Ctrl+F2 key.
Select new icon in default icon list and click OK.

Custom icons

You can import custom icons into the .mpl file and then use them in your tree.

Note: Add and Replace commands available in the Professional edition only.

To add new icon into the tree click Icons button and select Add.

Note: Maple supports 16x16 PNG, ICO and BMP images. If you add image larger than supported size, PNG or ICO image will be scaled and BMP will be truncated. For BMP images, Maple uses bottom leftmost pixel color to draw the bitmap transparently.

To replace the selected icon with a new one click Icons button and select Replace.
To import an existing icon collection into the active tree click Icon and select Import.
To export all custom icons to a single file click Icon and select Export.
Click Clear to delete all custom icons.

Mark

Mark appears as an extra image to the left of the node's icon. The marks are useful in identifying the status of the tree item.

To select mark icon, in Change Icon dialog, click Mark.
