WinLock features

Post by paul »

I am using the trial period to assess WinLock on my Windows XP system. I am able to lock a folder after which I can't access it through Windows Explore or an application using File>Open. However, I can access files in a locked folder when it has a direct link on my desk or if it shows as a "Recently used file" under the File menu. Not only can I access the file, but I can change and then save changes back into the locked folder. How can I prevent access in these two situations with WinLock?

What if I just wanted to simply render files as "Read only" when WinLock is active and not be able to change, move or delete them, especially delete them. How can I do this with WinLock?

Block folders feature lock the folder itself, but it doesn't protect the content. So, you should use block files command to protect files within this folder. To enable read-only access, select the grey check-mark at the left of the file name (Access\Files section).
