Simple desktop lock

I just purchased Winlock, and if anything, it has far more features that I need right now. I'd simply like to be able to lock up the desktop - for instance, when I walk away from the computer - or on startup. I'd like to do that with as little trouble as possible. I don't need to hide the desktop or the icons - I just want them inaccessible when the desktop is locked. The closest thing I can find to locking everything up without laboriously checking off 50 items is to load kiosk mode. However, that profile blanks out the whole desktop and does too much. Can you suggest a few settings to help me accomplish this basic goal?

Block desktop under System->Desktop is the fastest way to make the desktop inaccessible. However, this will hide the desktop icons as well (of course, they will be restored when you disable the protection).
